MCP server for SQL databases

Connect your AI assistant to your databases, securely

Myriade connects ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Le Chat to your Oracle, SQL Server or PostgreSQL databases over MCP. The assistant queries your data with business context, read-only, under each user's access rights.

Claude Code, in one line

claude mcp add --transport http myriade https://app.myriade.ai/mcp

Other assistants: paste this MCP address https://app.myriade.ai/mcp

The problem

An LLM wired straight into a database: three risks

Raw SQL access gives the assistant table and column names. Not your business, not your rules, no guardrails.

Wrong answers

Without a catalog or definitions, the model guesses which table is the source of truth and what a metric covers. The number looks right. It isn't.

Production under pressure

One unbounded query on the production database can run for a long time, pull millions of rows and slow down your applications.

Zero traceability

Who queried what, with which query? With direct access, nobody can tell, and nobody can rerun the calculation.

The solution

Myriade, the trust layer between the assistant and your databases

Myriade exposes an MCP server. The assistant never talks to the database directly: every call goes through Myriade, which adds context, enforces the rules and records the queries.

  1. Your AI assistant

ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Le Chat…

  2. Myriade

    Catalog, guardrails, access rules, history

  3. Your SQL databases

    Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL…

Reliability

Business context before SQL

Before writing a query, the assistant reads the Myriade catalog: table and column descriptions, business glossary, notes from the analyst agent.

  • Catalog and glossary search from the conversation
  • Complex questions handed to Myriade's analyst agent
  • Saved queries, rerun identically for recurring metrics
Zero prod impact

Read-only, with guardrails

Every SQL query sent by the assistant is parsed before it runs. Any write is rejected, even hidden in a subquery.

  • INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP… blocked; a query that cannot be parsed is rejected
  • Maximum duration per query and a cap on concurrent queries
  • At most 50 rows returned to the assistant
Governance & audit

Your access rules apply to the assistant

Signed in with OAuth, the assistant acts with the user's identity and role. It only sees the databases and data that person can access.

  • Database visibility, team rules on tables and columns
  • Protected columns stay masked, including for the assistant
  • SQL queries saved in Myriade, agent questions kept as conversations
Monitoring

Your KPIs under watch

Myriade watches your metrics with scheduled checks and raises an alert as soon as a rule is broken. The assistant reads them directly.

  • Overview of checks and alerts from the conversation
  • New checks proposed by the assistant, activated by a manager
  • Alert triage reserved to database owners

Supported databases

Your SQL databases, Oracle and SQL Server included

The same MCP server gives your assistant access to every database connected to Myriade, under the same rules.

  • Oracle
  • SQL Server
  • Azure SQL
  • PostgreSQL
  • MySQL
  • Snowflake
  • BigQuery
  • MotherDuck

Setup guides

One MCP server for every assistant. Claude is tested by Myriade; the others connect through the MCP standard and have not been tested by Myriade yet. Step-by-step guides live in the documentation.

Cursor, Windsurf and other MCP clients

Most MCP clients accept a remote server declared by its URL, over Streamable HTTP, with OAuth or a myr_… token in the Authorization header.

Deployment

European cloud by default, self-hosted if you prefer

Default

Myriade Cloud

  • Shared instance at app.myriade.ai: nothing to install
  • Hosted on Google Cloud in Europe (Zurich), maintained and updated by Myriade
  • MCP server ready to use at app.myriade.ai/mcp, with OAuth sign-in
Option

Self-hosted

  • Installed on your infrastructure, with Docker or Kubernetes
  • Myriade connects to your databases from inside your network
  • You control updates and access

Pilot program

Database behind a firewall? Join the on-premise pilot

Your Oracle or SQL Server databases run in your own data center, with no outside access? We are building an on-premise deployment mode with a few pilot companies. Leave your details: we'll look at your setup with you.

Pilot program: on-premise deployment is not an available offer yet.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or Le Chat to a SQL database?

Connect your database to Myriade, then add Myriade's MCP server (Streamable HTTP, OAuth) to your assistant. Myriade has tested the connection with Claude, including Claude Code. ChatGPT, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot and Le Chat support remote MCP servers and connect through the same standard, but Myriade has not tested them yet.

What is an MCP server for databases?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets an AI assistant call external tools. Myriade's MCP server gives it tools to list your databases, read their schemas, search the catalog, run read-only SQL, rerun saved queries or hand an analysis to Myriade's agent.

Can I connect AI to an Oracle or SQL Server database?

Yes. Myriade connects to Oracle, SQL Server and Azure SQL, as well as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery and MotherDuck. Once a database is connected to Myriade, your assistant reaches it over MCP, under the same access rules.

Can the assistant modify or delete data?

No. SQL queries the assistant sends over MCP are parsed before they run: any write (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP…) is rejected, even nested in a subquery, and a query that cannot be parsed is refused. As a precaution, also connect Myriade to your databases with a read-only account.

Where is my data hosted?

Myriade does not copy your databases: it queries them on demand and only returns the requested results to the assistant, 50 rows at most. By default, you use the shared Myriade Cloud instance, hosted on Google Cloud in Europe. If you prefer, you can install Myriade on your own infrastructure (Docker or Kubernetes). For databases with no outside access, an on-premise deployment is in pilot.
