Myriade for Claude

The Myriade connector lets Claude explore, query and document your own database. Claude talks to Myriade, Myriade connects to your database with read-only access, and what Claude learns about your data is written back to the Myriade catalog so the next question starts from it.

What the connector does

  • Explore. Claude lists your databases and tables, reads their schemas and a few sample rows, and searches the Myriade catalog for descriptions and glossary terms.
  • Query. Claude writes SQL in your database's dialect and Myriade runs it read-only, with your access rights. Any write (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, DROP…) is refused.
  • Document as you go. When the data confirms what a table or a column means, Claude writes that description to the Myriade catalog as a draft for you to review, or proposes it to the data team if you cannot edit the catalog.

Teams on a paid Myriade plan also get monitoring (checks and alerts), the daily brief and the audit value map through the same connector. These tools only show content once your workspace uses them.

Set up

You need Claude (web, desktop or Claude Code), a work email address and a database that Myriade can reach over the internet. Setup takes a few minutes.

  1. 1In Claude, open Settings → Connectors. Find Myriade in the connector directory and click Connect, or choose Add custom connector and paste the address below. On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner adds the connector for the organization first.
  2. 2Sign in to Myriade with your work email and approve access. If you are new to Myriade, a workspace is created for you.
  3. 3Connect your database in Myriade at app.myriade.ai/databases, ideally with a read-only database account. The guides below give the details for each engine.
  4. 4Back in Claude, ask a question about your data. Claude picks the Myriade tools it needs and asks your permission before it uses them.

Connector address (Myriade Cloud):

https://app.myriade.ai/mcp

In Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http myriade https://app.myriade.ai/mcp

Example prompts

Each prompt works on your own data once a database is connected.

  • “What's in my database? Give me an overview of the main tables and what each one is for.” Claude lists your tables, reads their schemas and a few sample rows, then summarizes.
  • “How many new customers did we get each month this year?” Claude finds the right table, writes a read-only SQL query and returns the monthly figures.
  • “Document the orders table: describe what each column means, based on the data.” Claude checks each column against real values and writes the descriptions to the Myriade catalog as drafts.
  • “Check the customers table for data quality issues: duplicates, missing emails, dates in the future.” Claude runs a few read-only checks and reports what it finds, with the queries it used.
  • “Save this analysis as a report in Myriade.” Claude creates a Myriade report with the queries and findings, visible only to you until you share it.

Data and permissions

  • Claude acts as the person who signed in, with exactly their rights in Myriade: it only sees the databases, tables and columns that person can see.
  • Database credentials stay in Myriade. Claude never connects to your database directly.
  • SQL is read-only and checked before it runs. At most 50 rows per query go back to Claude, and protected columns stay masked.
  • Claude can only write Myriade content: catalog descriptions, change proposals and reports. Each tool is labeled read-only or write so Claude can ask before writing.
  • To stop access, disconnect Myriade in Claude under Settings → Connectors.

Myriade receives the questions Claude sends to its tools and stores the queries and catalog changes made through them, like any other Myriade activity. It never reads your Claude conversations, memory or files. Privacy policy

Troubleshooting

Claude says no database is connected.

Your Myriade workspace has no database yet, or none is shared with you. Connect one at app.myriade.ai/databases, or ask a workspace admin to give you access, then ask Claude again.

Sign-in stops on a page asking for a work email.

Myriade Cloud does not accept personal email providers such as Gmail or Outlook. Sign in again with your work email. If you only have a personal address, write to [email protected].

Claude asks me to reconnect, or the connector shows an error.

Your Myriade session has ended or was revoked. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, choose Myriade and connect again.

Claude cannot see a table, or a column comes back masked.

Either the database account Myriade uses lacks the SELECT grant on that table, or your role in Myriade does not give you access to it, or the column is protected. A workspace admin can check all three in Myriade.

A query was refused.

Myriade only runs read-only SQL, so any query that writes, or that cannot be parsed, is refused. Ask Claude to rewrite it as a SELECT.

A query timed out, or the results look incomplete.

Each query has a time limit (120 seconds by default) and at most 50 rows go back to Claude. Ask Claude to filter or aggregate in SQL rather than fetch raw rows.

Myriade is not in my list of connectors.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner must add the connector in the organization settings before members can connect. Otherwise, add it as a custom connector with https://app.myriade.ai/mcp.

We self-host Myriade.

Use your own instance's address followed by /mcp instead of app.myriade.ai/mcp. If the instance is behind IP filtering, allow Anthropic's outbound range 160.79.104.0/21 so Claude can reach it.
